Baked Poha is a delicious and quick Indian food, it is low in calorie and it is ideal for those that want to loose weight. Baked Poha is a food for a vegetarian; it is rich in carbohydrate, contains 22.1g of cholesterol, 2.9g of protein, and 2.7g of fat, and it takes only 25mins to prepare. Baked Pohan is a low fat alternative to fast food greasy and fried snacks.
Ingredients
½ cups of Poha (which is also called flattened rice flakes)
2 tbsp of chopped coriander
1 tbsp of soaked semolina
1 finely chopped green chili
½ tsp of mustard seed
1 tsp of asafoetida
6 tbsp of low fat curds
2 tsp of oil
3 tbsp of lemon juice
3 tbsp of yoghurt
1 tsp of sugar
Sat to taste
Preparation
Wash the Poha thoroughly under a running tap, add the coriander, yoghurt, green chili, lemon juice, sugar, salt, semolina and stir very well. Grease a baking pan with oil and carefully spread the mixture into the pan. Put oil in a frying pan and heat the oil for 3mins, then add the mustard seed and asafoetida, and fry until they are dry and crispy, allow it to cool off and sprinkle it evenly over the Poha mixture, bake the mixture in an oven at 250 degree for about 15mins to 20mins.
Cut the Baked Poha into several pieces, adorn with the chopped coriander and serve hot.
