
In English Bagghar-E-Chawwal can be referred to as Seasoned Rice. It is usually served as the main dish and it is more popular among the Muslims, they usually serve it with ‘’Yakhni’’
Ingredients
2 cups of rice
I medium sized onion
1 tsp of garlic paste
1 cinnamon sticks (about 2inchs long)
2 cardamoms
1 tsp of ginger
I tsp of vegetable oil
2 whole cloves
Salt to taste
3 cups of water
Preparation
Heat up a pot or frying pan with vegetable oil, then slice the onion and fry till it is golden brown. Add the rice, garlic and ginger, cook until it is light brown in the oil and sitir continuously. Lower the heat and then add the cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom sticks, cover the pot and cook until it is soft. Serve Hot!
Bagghar-E- Chawwal is quick and easy to prepare. Cooked green peas can be added as garnishing and carrots for more nutrients.
